The Effect of Using Interactive Digital Media Kahoot on Improving Students' Process and Logical Thinking Abilities
Abstract
General Background Modern education emphasizes digital technology integration to foster critical and higher-order thinking skills through interactive learning environments. Specific Background At MTs Darul Huda, social studies instruction faces instructional challenges regarding student engagement, teacher digital literacy, and limited school infrastructure. Knowledge Gap However, empirical evaluations on how interactive gamified digital platforms specifically develop students' process skills and logical thinking in Islamic junior high schools remain limited. Aims This study evaluates the effect of using Kahoot as an interactive digital medium on student process skills and logical thinking abilities in social studies. Results Experimental results reveal that students using Kahoot achieved significantly higher posttest scores ($79.90$) and N-Gain ($0.406$) compared to control group taught conventionally ($69.43$; N-Gain $0.237$) ($p < 0.001$). Novelty This paper provides empirical evidence on gamified quiz mechanisms serving as real-time cognitive tools to systematically enhance logical reasoning under time constraints. Implications Integrating gamified platforms offers scalable strategies for educators to improve critical reasoning and bridge academic performance disparities. Key Findings Highlights kahoot integration significantly elevates social studies posttest performance over conventional learning methods. instant feedback and time-bound gamification systematically cultivate logical reasoning and cognitive process skills. interactive digital learning reduces student score variability and promotes consistent academic performance gains.
