Development and Testing of Adaptive Cruise Control Systems for Different Powertrains
Abstract
Due to the diversification of powertrains in the automotive industry, maximizing energy efficiency has become a core priority for driver assistance systems, alongside safety and comfort. My research aimed to develop a universal, energy-optimized adaptive cruise control (ACC) system operating optimally across internal combustion, hybrid, and purely electric vehicles. The scientific contribution of this research is a comprehensive simulation and validation framework that objectively demonstrates, via standardized metrics, the proposed control strategy's measurable energy savings in heterogeneous, simulated traffic conditions.
