Design and Structural Analysis of a Hybrid Wind-Solar Power Machine Frame

Aug 2026 · Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Technology · 0 citations

Abstract

The increasing demand for clean energy has encouraged the development of renewable energy systems that can overcome the limitations of single-source power generation. Hybrid systems combining wind and solar energy offer an alternative solution to improve energy availability and reliability. However, the performance of these systems depends on the strength and stability of the supporting structure. This study aims to design and analyze a machine frame structure for a hybrid wind and solar power generation system using a Savonius turbine and solar panel components. The frame was designed using SolidWorks 2022 with galvanized hollow steel material measuring 20 × 20 × 2 mm. The research method involved three-dimensional modeling and static structural analysis by applying fixed geometry conditions, gravitational loading, and automatic mesh generation to evaluate stress distribution, displacement, and structural safety. The analysis results show that the maximum equivalent stress reached 67.256 MPa, which is below the material yield strength of 203.943 MPa. The maximum displacement was 0.373 mm, while the minimum safety factor obtained was 3, indicating that the structure has sufficient strength and stability. The results confirm that the designed frame is safe and capable of supporting hybrid power generation components under operational conditions. In conclusion, the proposed machine frame provides a reliable structural solution for small-scale hybrid renewable energy systems and can support further development of efficient renewable energy technologies.
