Abstract

The problem of fuzzy structuring of models and tools is the main problem of flexible management of the information system (IS) development process. In this regard, an informed choice of project management methodology is of particular importance, which determines the effectiveness of the development and the level of customer satisfaction with the result. The purpose of the study is to analyze the problems and prospects of using flexible and hybrid methodologies for managing IT projects, as well as substantiate the criteria for choosing the optimal methodology in the field of IT development of telecommunications companies. Within the framework of the research, the following tasks were solved: the limitations and advantages of flexible and hybrid methodologies for managing the information system development process were identified and analyzed; trends and prospects for using Agile approaches in IT projects in the telecommunications sector were identified; criteria for choosing a management methodology were formed. In the course of the research, such methods as deduction, analysis, synthesis, systematization, classification were used. As a result of the research, the authors identified the advantages and disadvantages of existing flexible project management methodologies in the development of an information system (Scrum, Kanban, eXtreme Programming (XP), Feature Driven Development (FDD), Model-driven architecture and development (MDA/MDD), Domain Driven Development (DDD)), identified trends and prospects for their application in project development management in the IT segment, as well as criteria for choosing the optimal methodology in the field of IT development. The results obtained confirm the absence of a universal flexible methodology for managing IT projects and substantiate the expediency of using hybrid management models based on a combination of Agile elements and traditional approaches, depending on the specifics of the project and the stage of its life cycle. Agile methodology makes it possible to transform the traditional approach to information systems development, making it the most flexible and effective in a dynamic environment.
