Designing a Web-Based Goods Stock Information System Using Laravel and MySQL
Abstract
Effective stock management plays a critical role in improving operational efficiency and supporting data-driven decision-making, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). However, many organizations still rely on manual or semi-digital inventory recording methods that are prone to input errors, reporting delays, and difficulties in tracking transaction history. This study aims to design and implement a web-based stock information system using the Laravel framework and MySQL database to support more effective inventory management. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The developed system integrates item data management, stock-in and stock-out transaction recording, transaction history tracking, automatic reporting, and minimum stock notifications to support inventory control and operational decision-making. System validation was conducted using Black Box Testing on four main functions, namely administrator login, dashboard access, stock-in page access, and stock-in data entry. The testing results showed that all functions operated successfully and met the specified requirements without functional errors. User acceptance was evaluated through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving 10 warehouse operational users. The evaluation results indicated a satisfaction rate of 94%, categorized as excellent, demonstrating that the system is easy to use, responsive, and capable of supporting inventory management activities effectively. The findings indicate that the proposed system is feasible for implementation and provides an integrated digital solution for inventory recording, monitoring, and reporting in SME warehouse environments.
