Let $n\ge2$ and let $\Omega\subset\mathbb R^n$ be an arbitrary bounded open convex set. The author prove that, for $p>n$, the Dirichlet problem \[ \det D^2u=(-u)^p\quad\text{in }\Omega, \qquad u=0\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega, \qquad u>0\quad\text{in }\Omega \] has at most one convex Alexandrov solution. The proof is based on the affine behavior of the Monge--Amp\`ere energy and on a power-concavity property of the $L^{p+1}$ mass along the Legendre path connecting two solutions. At the homogeneous exponent $p=n$, the same argument shows that any two nonzero solutions with the same coefficient are positive multiples of one another.
We consider the Dirichlet problem for the mean curvature operator in Minkowski space, \[ -\operatorname{div}\left(\frac{\nabla u}{\sqrt{1-|\nabla u|^2}}\right) = \lambda u + \mu h(x,u) \quad \text{in } \Omega, \qquad u = 0 \quad \text{on } \partial\Omega, \] in a bounded domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^N$, where $\lambda, \mu$ are real parameters, and the nonlinearity $h$ is superlinear at $u = 0$. In particular, we study the combined effect of the parameters $\lambda,\,\mu$ on the multiplicity of solutions. In the general setting, following Szulkin's approach for nonsmooth functionals, we prove the existence, for $\lambda$ not belonging to the spectrum of the Dirichlet Laplacian and $\mu$ sufficiently large, of a global minimizing solution (with negative action level) and of a min-max solution (with positive action level). Moreover, we characterize the limiting profiles of these solutions as $\mu \to +\infty$. More precisely, when the global minimizer is positive, its limit profile is $\mathrm{dist}(\cdot,\partial\Omega)$, thus saturating, in the limit, the geometric constraint $|\nabla u|\le1$, while min-max solutions collapse uniformly to zero as $\mu\to+\infty$. A nonexistence criterion is also given for suitable values of $\lambda$ and $\mu$. Finally, when the domain $\Omega$ is a ball, using a shooting approach, we establish the existence of arbitrarily many nodal radial solutions for every $\lambda \ge 0$ and for $\mu$ sufficiently large.

In this work, we conduct a comprehensive study of problem \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -\Delta_1 u + g(u)|Du| = h(u)f&\text{in }\Omega, u=0&\text{on } \partial\Omega, \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^N$ is a bounded Lipschitz domain, $f\in L^1(\Omega)$ is a nonnegative datum, and $g,h$ are nonnegative continuous functions on $(0,\infty)$ that may be singular at the origin. Under the minimal assumptions that $g$ is integrable near zero and $h$ is bounded at infinity, we explore the existence of a global $BV(\Omega)$ solution. Furthermore, a comparison principle is proved under suitable monotonicity assumptions on $h$. This framework avoids any growth restrictions on $h$ near the origin, thus allowing for highly singular terms. To handle these nonlinearities, we introduce a novel approach that takes advantage of the rigid structure of the 1-Laplacian operator.
We prove a quantitative tropical approximation to the planar Aleksandrov Monge--Amp\`ere equation. Let $\Omega\subset\mathbb R^2$ be a bounded open convex domain, fix $K\Subset\Omega$, and let $F_N=G_{P_N}(0_\Omega)$ be the minimal nonnegative concave tropical series with integral slopes, zero boundary values, and corner locus containing a universally generic $N$-point set $P_N\subset K$. Set $u_N=N^{-1/2}F_N$ and $\mu_N=N^{-1}\sum_{p\in P_N}\delta_p$. For every compact $L\Subset\Omega$ we prove $\left|\int\varphi\,d(\mathrm{MA}(u_N)-\mu_N)\right|\le C(\Omega,K,L)N^{-1/2}(\|\varphi\|_\infty+\|\nabla\varphi\|_\infty)$ for $\varphi\in C_c^1(\Omega)$ supported in $L$. If $\mu_N\rightharpoonup\mu$, where $\mu$ is a probability measure supported in $K$, then $u_N$ converges uniformly on $\overline\Omega$ to the unique continuous concave zero-boundary Aleksandrov solution of $\mathrm{MA}(F)=\mu$, and $\mathrm{MA}(u_N)\rightharpoonup\mu$ vaguely in $\Omega$. No regularity or strict convexity of $\partial\Omega$ is assumed. For bounded rational convex polygons, strong genericity suffices. If $P\subset K$ is strongly generic with $|P|=N$ and $F_P=G_P(0_\Omega)$, its tropical curve has exactly $N$ bounded cells; the duals of the uncut marked carriers form a spanning tree; every compact internal edge has weight one; and $\mathrm{MA}(F_P)(\Omega^\circ)=N-1+\tfrac12D_{\mathrm{term}}(F_P)$, with $D_{\mathrm{term}}(F_P)=O_{\Omega,K}(\sqrt N)$. For strongly generic sequences satisfying the same empirical-measure hypothesis, the normalized curvature measures converge weakly on the closed polygon. We also obtain almost-sure limits for i.i.d. samples from absolutely continuous laws supported in $K$, affine covariance of the continuum solution, and, for source sequences covered by the polygonal theorem, a configuration-dependent Abelian-sandpile diagonal.

Let $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^d$, $d\ge2$, be a bounded connected domain with boundary of class $C^{1,\alpha}$, where $0<\alpha<1$. For the adjoint Neumann--Poincar\'e operator $K^*_{\partial\Omega}$, normalised so that its distinguished eigenvalue is $1/2$, let $\lambda_j^+(\Omega)$ denote the upper min--max values on the mean-zero energy space. We prove $\sum_{j=1}^{d}\lambda_j^+(\Omega)\ge \frac{d-2}{2}.$ It follows that $\lambda_1^+(\Omega)\ge \frac{d-2}{2d},$ with equality if and only if $\Omega$ is a ball. In dimension three this proves the $1/6$-conjecture of Miyanishi and Suzuki. The proof uses the coordinate boundary-charge densities induced by uniform applied fields. Their energy Gram matrix is the perfect-conductor polarization tensor $M_\infty$. Positivity of a $2d\times2d$ Gram matrix yields the endpoint Hashin--Shtrikman inequality $|\Omega|\mathrm{Tr}(M_\infty^{-1})\le1,$ and bounds the trace of the compression of $K^*_{\partial\Omega}$ to the applied-field space. Equality in the inverse-trace inequality makes the interior Newtonian potential quadratic, so a converse to Newton's theorem identifies $\Omega$ as an ellipsoid. Equality in the spectral estimate also makes the Hessian of this potential isotropic, which forces the ellipsoid to be a ball.
In this paper, we study entire solutions and periodic correctors for the coupled-drift Monge-Amp\`ere equation \[ \det D^2u = \exp\{-a\cdot Du+b\cdot x+V(x)-c_0\}, \quad D^2u>0. \] For $V\equiv0$, we obtain a sharp classification of the whole-space solvability regimes: all entire smooth strictly convex solutions are quadratic when $a=b=0$; no such solution exists when $a\neq0$ and $a\cdot b\le0$; and non-quadratic entire solutions exist when $a=0$ and $b\neq0$, or when $a\cdot b>0$. For the null case $a\neq0$, $a\cdot b=0$, we give a scalar maximum-principle argument in every dimension $n\ge2$. For periodic $V$, we prove existence and uniqueness of the normalized pair $(\psi_A,c_A)$ solving the drifted cell problem \[ \det(A+D^2\psi) = \exp\{-a\cdot D\psi+V-c_A\}, \quad A+D^2\psi>0 \quad\text{on }\mathbb T^n. \] We also prove that any asymptotically quadratic entire solution must satisfy $b=Aa$. If its remainder is bounded, then the solution is the corresponding quadratic-periodic corrector up to an additive constant.
We investigate the Dirichlet problem for the variational integral $J[u] = \int_{\Omega} f(\nabla u) \, dx$ with density $f$ of linear growth satisfying appropriate ellipticity conditions. We show that the relaxed problem admits a unique solution $u$ in the space of functions of bounded variation, if the set $\Gamma_0$ of convex points $x \in \partial\Omega$ is sufficiently large. For example, the inequality $\mathcal{H}^{n-1}(\Gamma_0)>\frac{2}{3}\mathcal{H}^{n-1}(\partial\Omega)$ is sufficient. Moreover, the minimizer $u$ is smooth in the interior of $\Omega$ and attains the prescribed boundary data at least on $\Gamma_0$ in the classical sense.
