Aug 2026 · Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat · Vol 3, pp. 87-92 · 0 citations

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of adolescent life. While it offers benefits in terms of communication and self-expression, unhealthy usage can negatively impact adolescents’ mental and social well-being. This psychoeducation program aims to raise awareness among teenagers about the effects of social media and provide strategies for healthy and responsible use. The program was conducted using an educational and interactive approach at SMP Negeri 2 Muara Batu, including lectures, group discussions, and case simulations. Evaluation results showed an increased understanding among students regarding the dangers of cyberbullying, social media addiction, and the importance of protecting digital privacy. Psychoeducation proved effective as a preventive tool to promote healthy social media behavior among adolescents.
