Հատուկ անունների տառադարձումը Ա. Դյումա որդու «Կամելիազարդ տիկինը» վեպի թարգմանություններում
Abstract
This article presents a comparative phonological analysis (vowels, diphthongs) of proper names in Alexandre Dumas fils' novel The Lady of the Camellias, as translated into one of the two variants of modern Literary Armenian (Western Armenian) and subsequently transferred into the other (Eastern Armenian). Transcription and transliteration are also pre-sented as important linguistic and translation phenomena, along with their principles and regularities of implementation. In transcription, priority is given to conveying the pronuncia-tion of the word in the source language, whereas in transliteration, preserving the word’s “graphic form” is emphasized.
