Abstract

This study addresses inefficiencies, security vulnerabilities, and data redundancy in conventional laboratory document management by developing a web-based document governance system named TakeDoLaSi. The system integrates ISO 15489 records management principles with abb) to support secure, accountable, and traceable digital document governance. The development process adopted the Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, including planning, requirement analysis, database design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was developed using the Python-Flask framework and SQL Alchemy for database management. Data collection and evaluation were conducted through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving 15 laboratory personnel selected purposively based on their direct involvement in document management activities. The evaluation assessed operational dimensions including role-based accessibility, document upload and retrieval efficiency, workflow compatibility, interface usability, activity logging, and notification functionality. User satisfaction and system usability were analyzed qualitatively through direct interaction, operational observation, and participant feedback. The scoring criteria were based on the conformity between expected and actual system performance, categorized as "Success" when functional requirements were achieved. The results indicate that all evaluated system functions successfully met the established acceptance criteria. Participants confirmed that the RBAC mechanism effectively controlled access permissions, while document management and monitoring features improved operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability. The findings demonstrate that the proposed system achieved satisfactory usability and user acceptance for governance-oriented laboratory document management.

Development of a Web-Based Document Archiving System for Local Government Using Laravel: A Software Engineering Approach

Most local government digitization efforts fail to address workflow inefficiencies and lack structured governance mechanisms, limiting their operational impact. This study presents a governance-oriented web-based document archiving system built with Laravel MVC and Agile (Scrum), implemented at BKAD Kabupaten Kapuas. The key novelty lies in integrating role-based access control (RBAC), audit trails, and structured metadata management as core architectural elements  systematically restructuring document workflows rather than merely digitizing existing processes. Evaluation through functional testing, performance comparison, and user satisfaction analysis confirmed substantial operational improvements, including dramatic reductions in retrieval time and error rates, alongside near-perfect data completeness. User satisfaction consistently exceeded 4.3/5.0 across all dimensions, validating system usability across varying levels of digital literacy. The modular open-source architecture provides a replicable model for similar institutions, with direct implications for scalable and accountable e-government transformation.

Design and Implementation of a Web-Based Savings and Loan Information System

This study aimed to design and implement a web-based Savings and Loan Information System for Koperasi Konsumen Raudhah Amanah Bunobogu while supporting the improvement of its existing business processes. The study was motivated by operational challenges arising from manual transaction recording, fragmented data management, reporting delays, and limited access to centralized information. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. A Fishbone Diagram was employed to identify the root causes of operational problems, whereas Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) was used to analyse the existing (As-Is) and proposed (To-Be) business processes. The system was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Waterfall model and evaluated through Black Box Testing to verify its functional requirements. The developed system successfully integrates key cooperative operations, including member management, savings transactions, loan processing, installment payments, and financial reporting within a centralized web-based platform. The Black Box Testing results confirmed that all implemented functionalities operated in accordance with the specified system requirements. These findings demonstrate that integrating BPMN-based business process redesign with information system development provides a structured approach to supporting the digitalization of savings and loan cooperative operations. Future studies are encouraged to evaluate the organizational impact of the system through quantitative performance measurements and user-based assessments.

Digitalizing Scholarly Communication: Development and Functional Validation of a Web-Based Scientific Conference Management System

This study developed a standalone web-based system for managing scientific conferences, with a focus on manuscript submission and peer review. The work used the Waterfall model. Development moved through requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and functional validation. The requirements analysis identified four user roles: admin, reviewer, author, and guest. It also defined the main functions needed for manuscript submission, verification, reviewer assignment, review and feedback, status monitoring, and Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issuance. The system used separate frontend and backend components. Vue.js was used for the frontend, Laravel for the backend, and MySQL for the database. The components communicated through a JSON-based RESTful API. Functional validation was carried out with scenario-based black-box testing to check whether each function met its stated requirement without examining the source code. In total, 59 test scenarios were run. Every scenario produced the expected output, giving a 100% functional conformity rate. The results show that the system can perform the defined conference management functions within one digital platform for manuscript submission and peer review. It therefore provides a technical basis for a more structured process of research dissemination and scholarly communication. Further work is still needed to evaluate usability, performance, accessibility, security, and user satisfaction before its broader effectiveness can be assessed.

Digital Transformation of Electronic Archive Management for Improving Business Operational Efficiency

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged organizations to transform conventional document management into electronic systems to improve efficiency, accessibility, and information management. In the Collection Division of PT Hakaru Metalindo Perkasa, archive management was still conducted manually, resulting in inefficiencies in archive recording, storage, retrieval, time, and maintenance costs. This study aims to develop a web based electronic archive management system to support more efficient and effective archive management and facilitate digital transformation in business operations. This study employed a system development approach using the prototyping method, consisting of communication, planning, modeling, construction, and delivery stages. Data were collected through interviews and observations to identify user requirements and existing archive management problems. The pro- posed system was developed using the CodeIgniter framework and supported by a database for structured archive management. System functionality was evaluated using black box testing. The developed system provides several functions, including archive data entry, classification, archive location management, archive circulation, user management, and archive data access. The black box testing results indicate that all tested functions operated successfully according to user requirements. The web based electronic archive management system can support the digital transformation of archive management by improving the efficiency, accessibility, and organization of archive related business operations.

Design and Feasibility Evaluation of a Web-Based Container Damage Reporting Information System for Container Terminal Operations

Purpose: This research designs and evaluates a web-based information system for Container Damage Report (CDR) management in container terminal operations. The study emphasizes applied computing, browser-based access, cloud data storage, and human-centered operational usability. The previous CDR process relied on paper forms, verbal confirmation, and separate photo files, resulting in slow retrieval, inconsistent documentation, and limited traceability. Methods: The research applied the 4D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The define stage identified operational problems, user roles, data needs, and reporting constraints through field observation, interviews, workflow review, and document analysis. The design stage formulated the reporting flow, required fields, database structure, interface layout, and access mechanism. The development stage implemented a no-code cloud prototype by integrating Tally for online input, Google Sheets for centralized records, and Google Sites as a web portal. The dissemination stage involved a limited introduction and user-acceptance testing. Results: The prototype supports structured online input, photo evidence upload, timestamped records, centralized cloud storage, browser-based retrieval, and monitoring of report status. User validation yielded scores of 76%, 94%, and 84%, with an average of 84.67%, indicating that the prototype is feasible for initial operational use. Novelty: The study contributes a lightweight applied computing model for container damage reporting. It shows how no-code cloud tools can support an affordable transitional architecture before integration with enterprise terminal operating systems.
