Green Product in Sustainable Business Development Future Research Agenda: Bibliometric Analysis
Abstract
Purpose – Over the past few decades, many studies have been conducted on green products. However, research that explores the factors that influence the adoption of green products by consumers is still relatively limited. Given the increasingly pressing issues of climate change and environmental sustainability, the importance of implementing and developing green products is becoming increasingly critical. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of green products, with a focus on published empirical research, in order to encourage the acceleration of adoption and innovation in green products. Design/methodology/approach – The approach in this study uses a systematic literature review (SLR) with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer related to green products as a reference in “Article Title, Abstract and Keywords” sourced from the Scopus database from 1958 to 2024. The analysis was conducted on September 20, 2024. Findings – The results showed that research related to green products is still very relevant to be studied in order to provide guidelines for practitioners and academics in developing sustainable green products in the future, especially in developing countries. The interesting finding is that China is very dominant in conducting studies related to the issue of green products compared to the United States which is very in recent decades. Research limitations/implications – This study relies on research literature on green products that is only sourced from the Scopus database. Future studies can combine with the Web of Science database to expand generalization to be more comprehensive in explaining the research phenomenon. Practical implications – The results of this study include implications for the management and development of sustainable green products in the future for practitioners and academics. Originality/value – Research related to green products is starting to become an interesting topic for practitioners and academics in various countries, both in developed and developing countries. To support the sustainable development of green products, research related to this is important to provide important guidance for practitioners and academics in developing green products in the future.
