The Development and Implementation of Simulation Software for Data Testing in ElectroLogix Interlocking
Abstract
Testing and validating railway interlocking systems present significant challenges due to the need for communication with both trackside equipment and Train Control System (TCS)s, which typically involve complex subsystems and extensive hardware. This paper introduces a simulation-based software platform designed to emulate these external systems by extracting raw interface data from the interlocking system and transforming it into an object-oriented model. The software platform enables comprehensive visualization and manual simulation of train movements, trackside components states and Train Control System (TCS). It allows testers to execute diverse operational scenarios, assess system responses to various inputs, and verify the correctness of interlocking logic. By minimizing reliance on physical hardware and Train Control System (TCS), this approach enhances testing efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and reliability standards prior to system integration and field deployment.
