Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in Civic Education (PPKn) at SDN Kanigoro 03, which were associated with teacher-centered learning activities and the limited use of interactive learning media. Students also experienced difficulties in understanding the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity because the learning materials were considered less engaging and lacked visual support. This study aimed to improve the Civic Education (PPKn) learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Kanigoro 03 through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by the "Indonesiaku Cultural Diversity" Flipbook. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving fifth-grade students as the research participants. Data were collected through observations, learning achievement tests, documentation, and field notes, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL model supported by the interactive flipbook improved students' learning outcomes, participation, critical thinking, collaboration, and learning motivation. The flipbook also helped students understand the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity more effectively through interactive visual content. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model assisted by the flipbook can be used as an innovative learning strategy to improve Civic Education learning outcomes in elementary schools.
