ҚАЗАҚ ФРАЗЕОЛОГИЗМДЕРІН ОҚЫТУДЫҢ ЭТНОЛИНГВИСТИКАЛЫҚ НЕГІЗДЕРІ

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the ethnolinguistic foundations of teaching Kazakh phraseological units. The main objective of the research is to expand students’ national and cultural worldview, enhance their linguistic competence, and develop communicative skills through revealing the ethnolinguistic nature of phraseological units. In accordance with this goal, several scientific and methodological tasks were identified: to describe the ethnolinguistic content of Kazakh phraseological units; to demonstrate their connection with the historical experience and cultural values of the people; to determine effective methodological approaches in the educational process; and to identify ways that contribute to the formation of students’ linguistic and cultural competence. The research hypothesis assumes that teaching phraseological units based on ethnolinguistic principles expands students’ national and cultural worldview and enhances their linguistic and communicative competence. The article also examines the practical aspects of mastering phraseological units from an ethnolinguistic perspective. In particular, students were provided with literary texts and instructed to identify phraseological expressions, analyze their meanings, determine their ethnolinguistic value, and establish their connection with the national worldview. An empirical study was conducted using one of the most widely applied social methods in pedagogical research – the questionnaire method. The structure of the questionnaire was designed in advance, and the main population and sample were determined. Respondents were selected from the Faculty of Philology of O. Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University (Shymkent, Kazakhstan). The study involved 99 third- and fourth-year students majoring in “6B01701 – Training of Teachers of the Kazakh Language and Literature” and “6B02302 – Philology”. The collected data were processed using quantitative, qualitative, and statistical analysis methods. The research results confirm the effectiveness and relevance of teaching Kazakh phraseological units from an ethnolinguistic perspective. It was found that this approach helps students to gain a deeper understanding of national identity, appreciate cultural values, and develop their linguistic and communicative abilities. The findings contribute to strengthening the interrelation between methods of teaching the Kazakh language and ethnolinguistic science, forming a foundation for new methodological approaches in the education system.
