Gender and Technology in Education
Abstract
Appendix B presents the results of testing Hypothesis 2 regarding gender differences in attitudes toward artificial intelligence while controlling for academic profile. Table B1 shows the results of two-way ANOVA (Type III) for five AI attitude scales: AIAS-4 (general attitude), trust in AI, willingness to use AI, AI safety, and AI comfort. After controlling for academic profile, gender differences were non-significant for most scales (AIAS-4: p = 0.149; trust: p = 0.102; willingness: p = 0.102; safety: p = 0.781). The only remaining significant difference was AI comfort (F(1,149) = 5.59, p = 0.019, η²p = 0.036): males reported greater comfort than females. Table B2 provides descriptive statistics (means and standard deviations) for each scale by gender. The results indicate that initially detected gender differences in AI attitudes are explained by confounding with academic profile: the IT profile is dominated by males, who hold more positive attitudes toward AI.
GAOKAO-Bench is introduced, an intuitive benchmark that employs questions from the Chinese GAOKAO examination as test samples, including both subjective and objective questions that contribute a robust evaluation benchmark for future large language models and offers valuable insights into the advantages and limitations...

A novel threat is unveiled in which attackers steer the RAG system's response by injecting malicious passages into its knowledge base, enabling the attacker to steer the response without altering the user input or modifying the RAG weights.

This work revisits schema linking when using the latest generation of large language models (LLMs) and finds empirically that newer models are adept at utilizing relevant schema elements during generation even in the presence of large numbers of irrelevant ones.

Empirically, PRISM reduces the end-to-end time for data selection and model tuning to just 30% of conventional pipelines, and achieves this efficiency while simultaneously enhancing performance, surpassing models fine-tuned on the full dataset across eight multimodal and three language understanding benchmarks.
