Abstract

The educational scenario has undergone major transformations in recent decades. In particular, studies that discuss the invisibility, combating racism, and religious intolerance of peoples of Afro-Brazilian culture have been receiving attention. In this scenario, it is important to look at research that goes beyond an essentially rationalist perspective, considering the contributions that studies that consider subjectivities, the sensitive, and the imaginary have made to this theme. Thus, this text seeks to systematize and analyze the main studies that focus on religions of African origin, the imaginary, and education, especially in research focused on the classroom. To this end, an integrative review of recent studies on the following platforms is used: Capes Journal Portal, SciELO, Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, and the Capes Theses and Dissertations Catalog; the result of which reveals that there are still some gaps in the understanding of the meaning of the concept of secularism in schools.
