Abstract

The development of information technology provides opportunities for government agencies to improve data management and public services. The data collection process for uninhabitable houses at the Housing and Settlement Area Office of Southwest Sumba Regency still requires an integrated information system to support data recording, verification, storage, and reporting. This study aims to develop a web-based information system for collecting data on uninhabitable houses to support the management of data at the village and regency levels. The system was developed using the Waterfall software development model, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was developed using web-based technologies with PHP and MySQL as the database management system. The system, named SIPERATU, provides separate functions for village operators and regency administrators. Village operators can input uninhabitable house data, upload supporting photographs, edit data, and submit data for verification. Regency administrators can review submitted data, verify data, accept or reject submissions, manage verified data, and export data for reporting purposes. The developed system is expected to support more structured, centralized, and efficient management of uninhabitable house data.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Requirements Don’t Live in Isolation: What We’re Exploring with Req-Space

Requirements in large systems rarely exist in isolation. Their meaning depends on the wider project context - other requirements, policies, decisions, tests, and implementation details. That becomes especially important when AI is used for review, because spotting a possible conflict or gap is only the beginning. ReqSpace explores how AI, visualisation, and connected project context can help reviewers understand those findings, trace the relationships behind them, and focus on the questions that…

Beyond Prompt Engineering: The Role of Tacit Knowledge in Software Engineering

AI is making software generation faster, but speed does not remove the need for expertise. As more work is delegated to AI, tacit knowledge may become one of the most important human advantages in software engineering.
