Chromosome-level genome assembly of the mangrove-dwelling bivalve Enigmonia aenigmatica (Pectinoida: Anomiidae)
Abstract
Enigmonia aenigmatica is a unique mangrove-dwelling bivalve species with remarkable ecological and morphological adaptations, yet its genomic background has remained unexplored. In this study, we combined PacBio HiFi long reads, WGS short reads, Hi-C data, Oxford Nanopore long-read transcriptome sequencing, and Illumina short-read transcriptome sequencing to assemble and annotate a high-quality reference genome for E. aenigmatica . We obtained a chromosome-level genome assembly with a total genome size of 465.97 Mb, comprising 8 chromosomes. The assembly exhibits exceptional contiguity, with a scaffold N50 of 58.83 Mb. Comprehensive gene annotation identified 17,728 protein-coding genes. This chromosome-level genome of E. aenigmatica provides a valuable genomic resource for future studies on mangrove-associated bivalves, molluscan evolution, and ecological adaptation in intertidal environments.
