The distinctive features and support of Protocol state fuzzer, an open source, generic, modular, and extensible framework for state machine learning and testing of network protocol implementations, are described.
Abstract
. In recent years, protocol state fuzzing has emerged as an effective technique to analyze and test network protocol implementations, uncovering numerous security vulnerabilities, bugs, and non-conformance issues in them. This paper presents ProtocolState-Fuzzer ( PSF ), an open source, generic, modular, and extensible framework for state machine learning and testing of network protocol implementations. W e describe the distinctive features and support that PSF offers, its architecture and implementation, and briefly overview the protocol-specific state fuzzers that currently use PSF as their basis.
AFLWalk is created, a variant of AFLNet, as an attempt to address the challenge of testing stateful protocols by focusing exclusively on message-sequence mutations to steer exploration through protocol state machines, rather than applying byte-level mutations such as bit-flipping.

Security patterns are widely recognized as an effective solution for mitigating vulnerabilities in software design and development. However, ensuring that integrated patterns remain correct across evolving system specifications is a challenging problem in practice. This is more so when the evolution occurs at runtime....

This work is building an executable formal semantics for eBPF in F* that explicitly distinguishes cross-platform and platform-specific behaviors and envision this semantics as a practical foundation for a uniform, trustworthy eBPF across platforms.

This paper proposes symbolic execution as an efficient approach to bounded verification of communication-protocol compliance in embedded firmware. Such protocols are often validated empirically, but conventional test cases may fail to expose subtle instances of noncompliance. We present an approach that applies symboli...

This work derives the first model of WhatsApp Web's implementation of the Signal protocol and the most detailed model to date of Signal's original protocol, and reveals previously undocumented differences between the original libsignal library and WhatsApp's fork.
