Soft Computing Techniques in Smart Manufacturing

Sep 2026

Abstract

Smart manufacturing improves flexibility in conventional mass production processes by leveraging cutting-edge computing technologies. This approach maintains efficiency and cost-effectiveness while enabling the on-demand production of highly customized products. The testing and development of novel materials that facilitate effective and adaptable production processes are further accelerated by combining these techniques with high-performance materials. This study explores the key technologies enabling smart manufacturing and focuses on improvements in production processes that provide unprecedented design flexibility. Additionally, it looks at the difficulties in scaling smart manufacturing solutions and offers case studies of businesses that have effectively used these strategies. The study concludes by summarizing the main conclusions and suggesting future lines of inquiry to develop the topic of smart manufacturing using soft computing.
