2026 · MATEC Web of Conferences · 0 citations · 2 references

Abstract

The paper attempts to explore the concept of a combination of using photovoltaic microgrids in the hospital uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Using the efficiency and carbon emission issues which arise due to the present system of hospital UPS being reliant on diesel generators and lead - acid batteries, an adequate wind - solar - storage - UPS microgrid system is proposed. It is a combination of photovoltaic power production, lithium - battery energy storage and intelligent EMS dispatch management. The system achieves a multi-level loop of power supply with the following features; direct supply of renewable energy, storage of energy to be used during peak shaving periods, and real-time back-up of UPS. Using the model calculations of the following aspects controlling the reliability of power supply, the quality of power and the delivery of a green low -carbon operation, the technical and economic feasibility of the case - study hospital are confirmed. The objective identification of the barriers in early investment, space occupation, and dependency on environmental resources, and prospects of future development concerning maximization of hospital energy structures, are also identified objectively in the paper.
