Development of Learning Media for Mathematics Students for Data Literacy Skills with the Help of Web Diffit
Abstract
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 encourages the integration of digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), into mathematics learning, especially in number pattern materials that are often considered abstract and difficult to understand. In addition to mastering mathematical concepts, data literacy skills are important skills for Mathematics students in the digital era. This research aims to develop learning media assisted by the Diffit Web platform to improve students' data literacy skills. The research uses a research and development approach with the Borg & Gall procedural model which consists of eight stages, starting from needs analysis, initial product preparation, expert validation, gradual revision, limited trials, to field trials. The results of the validation of material and media experts obtained scores of 93.47% and 92.89%, respectively with the category "very valid". The practicality test in the main and small group trials showed an increase from 94.25% to 95.55% in the "very practical" category, while the effectiveness test at the field test stage reached 96.66% with the category "very effective". The findings show that students' obstacles in compiling the right prompts affect the optimization of learning outcomes. It is concluded that Web Diffit-assisted learning media is feasible and effective in improving student data literacy, so prompting competency assistance needs to be provided before the widespread application of media.
