AI-Ready MBA Graduates: A Conceptual Framework for Curriculum Transformation and Career Readiness

2026 · International journal of research and innovation in social science · 0 citations

Abstract

The rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) across industries is fundamentally reshaping work, occupations, and employer expectations. While higher education institutions continue to emphasize disciplinary knowledge, employers increasingly demand graduates capable of collaborating with intelligent systems, interpreting AI-generated insights, solving complex problems, and demonstrating ethical judgment in AI-supported environments. This paper develops a conceptual framework and proposes an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) research design for examining how students prepare for AI-integrated workplaces. This conceptual paper examines how universities can redesign curricula to prepare students for AI-integrated workplaces. Drawing on Human Capital Theory, Experiential Learning Theory, Constructivism, and the Technology Acceptance Model, the paper proposes an integrated framework that links AI-enabled curriculum design, digital pedagogy, competency development, employability skills, and career readiness. The framework identifies critical competencies, including AI literacy, digital fluency, critical thinking, creativity, ethical reasoning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning. The study further discusses implications for curriculum planners, educators, accreditation agencies, and industry partners. Finally, the paper outlines future research directions and practical recommendations for embedding AI across undergraduate and postgraduate education in the Indian context.
