Democracia de Propietarios vs. Socialismo Liberal
Abstract
In Justice as Fairness John Rawls argues that only property-owning democracy and liberal socialism are fully compatible with the principles of justice. Nevertheless, his epistemic abstention regarding which of these regimes constitutes the more attractive alternative from a normative and institutional perspective has left open a debate that has, so far, produced few concrete outcomes. In this regard, the present article aims to establish a critical balance between property-owning democracy and liberal socialism, evaluating their foundations, institutional designs and normative reach in light of self-respect.
