TL;DR
The role of exercise training, cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), and heart rate variability (HRV)-guided training in reducing cardiometabolic risk associated with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic syndrome is examined, and the emerging clinical utility of wearable HRV-monitoring devices is discussed.
The reviewed evidence consistently indicates that higher CRF is associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and cardiovascular events, and these findings support the interpretation of CRF as a modifiable prognostic marker.
