It is concluded that the successful implementation of a competency-based approach requires a transformation of the teacher's role, the introduction of a formative assessment system, and the creation of a personalized digital educational environment that promotes the development of a culture of lifelong learning among students.
Abstract
This article examines the essence and relevance of a competency- based approach in higher education in the context of a dynamically changing labor market and widespread digitalization. It analyzes contemporary pedagogical strategies aimed at effectively developing students' hard and soft skills. Particular attention is paid to innovative teaching methods, such as project-based and research activities, interactive case studies, gamification, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools into the educational process. The need for a transition from the traditional paradigm of knowledge transfer to a paradigm of "skills for action" in non-standard situations is substantiated. It is concluded that the successful implementation of a competency-based approach requires a transformation of the teacher's role (a shift to tutoring and facilitation), the introduction of a formative assessment system, and the creation of a personalized digital educational environment that promotes the development of a culture of lifelong learning among students.
