Next-Generation It Solutions Using Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing

Sep 2026 · International Journal of Science Engineering and Technology

Abstract

Therapod development of information technology has transformed the way organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and individuals store, process, and utilize information. Two major technologies driving this transformation are Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Computing. The combination of AI and cloud computing provides powerful, scalable, intelligent, and cost-effective solutions for next-generation information technology systems. Artificial Intelligence enables machines and software to learn from data, identify patterns, make predictions, automate tasks, and support intelligent decision-making. Cloud computing provides ondemand access to computing resources, storage, applications, databases, and networking services through the internet. Integrating these technologies creates a flexible IT environment capable of handling large volumes of data and delivering intelligent services efficiently. The integration of AI and cloud computing offers several advantages, such as scalability, flexibility, reduced infrastructure costs, improved productivity, faster decisionmaking, and better resource utilization. Organizations can increase or decrease computing resources according to their requirements while using AI services through cloud platforms. However, several challenges must be considered, including data privacy, cybersecurity, dependence on internet connectivity, ethical concerns, algorithmic bias, service availability, and the complexity of managing AI workloads in cloud environments. Proper security mechanisms, responsible AI practices, data governance, and skilled professionals are therefore essential for successful implementation. The future of IT is expected to move toward highly automated, intelligent, and interconnected systems. Emerging technologies such as edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), generative AI, serverless computing, and intelligent cybersecurity can further strengthen the capabilities of cloud-based AI solutions. Overall, the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing represents an important foundation for next-generation IT solutions, enabling organizations to build smarter.

What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us

Jennifer Neville did not want to go into computer science—but that’s exactly where she landed. Neville discusses the starts and stops that led to her professional sweet spot and her work identifying “surprising failures” making it hard for AI to handle complexity.  The post What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us appeared first on Microsoft Research.
