TL;DR

A ddPCR is developed to accurately detect the insert in individual isolates and to quantify in field populations and reveals how the Irish Z. tritici population has changed, with high variability in its frequency originally observed in the mid-2010 replaced by a relatively stable frequency at approximately 5% since from 2021 onwards.

Fusarium asiaticum FaSdhC2 Point Mutation A83V Confers Resistance to Pydiflumetofen and Development of a Rapid LAMP Detection Method.

Fusarium head blight (FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearum species complex (FGSC) is a devastating disease worldwide. The new succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor pydiflumetofen is highly effective against FHB, but its growing use raises resistance concerns. In this study, we identified four resistant Fusarium asiaticum is...

Resistance to SDHI Fungicides in Monilinia fructicola Field Isolates Is Associated with Amino Acid Substitutions Across SDH Subunits.

This study provides the first report worldwide of SDHI resistance in Monilinia species field isolates linked to aa changes in the SDH subunits and combined SDHI and DMI resistance in peach orchards, highlighting the need for resistance monitoring and management.

Nationwide Distribution and Fungicide Resistance of Colletotrichum Species Causing Apple Bitter Rot in Korea (2015–2024)

Results demonstrate a clear fungicide-driven species replacement, where the ecological success of C. fructicola is attributed to its dual resistance rather than physiological superiority, providing critical evidence of how long-term selection pressure reshapes pathogen population dynamics.

Development of a robust, deployable loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay for rapid and specific detection of soft rot caused by Pectobacterium

Soft rot, caused by the phytopathogenic bacteria Pectobacterium and Dickeya , is a serious and destructive disease of potato worldwide. Symptoms caused by the two genera are indistinguishable. An effective diagnostic strategy is essential for controlling the disease and reducing losses in potato production. In th...

Prevalence of Quinone Outside Inhibitor Fungicide Resistance and Dynamics of Cytochrome b Genotypes Under Different Fungicide Selection Pressure in Botrytis cinerea Isolates from Korean Strawberry Farms

Botrytis cinerea, the causal agent of gray mold, is a major pathogen in strawberry production. Quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) fungicides have been widely used for disease control, but resistance driven by the G143A mutation in cytochrome b (cytb) has limited their field efficacy. This study evaluated the sensitivity o...
