Shared phylogeographic structuring and recurrent hybridization underlie the diversification of Microhyla frog complexes in the Indochinese biodiversity hotspot
The Indochinese biodiversity hotspot is portrayed as a dynamic evolutionary system where cycles of fragmentation and reconnection have repeatedly reshaped lineage boundaries, and the complex phylogeographic structure recovered exemplifies the urgent need for taxonomic revisions.
The results suggest that river barriers, sky-island fragmentation, and climatic change may have jointly contributed to diversification in Blarinellini, and suggest that evolutionary diversity within the tribe may be substantially underestimated.

It is demonstrated how complex topography and climatic fluctuations jointly shape the genetic structure and evolutionary history of S. oweni, demonstrating how fragmented “sky island” habitats and complex topography of these regions have restricted dispersal and gene flow among populations, resulting in pronounced gene...

The evolutionary history of ancient marine lineages is often obscured by geological change, long-term isolation, and morphological conservatism. Here, we investigate whether population genetic patterns can reveal deep-time evolutionary processes by integrating haplotype structure and differentiation, molecular dating,...

Understanding how lineages diversify despite persistent ancestral polymorphism and recurrent gene flow remains a central challenge in evolutionary biology. Juniperus distributed across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau provide an ideal system for addressing this question because repeated geological uplift and climatic oscillat...
Amphibian populations are strongly influenced by geographical and environmental barriers; however, the processes shaping the spatial genetic structure remain poorly understood in many East Asian taxa. We investigated the population structure and evolutionary history of the Korean endemic salamander Hynobius notialis...
