Integrating Blockchain and AI with Islamic Ethical Frameworks for Comprehensive IoT Security
Abstract
The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has created significant security and privacy challenges, including unauthorized access, data breaches, cyberattacks, and data manipulation. Traditional security mechanisms often struggle to address the complexity and dynamic nature of modern IoT environments. This conceptual study explores the integration of Blockchain technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within an Islamic ethical framework to enhance IoT security. Drawing upon relevant literature on IoT security, blockchain applications, AI-driven cybersecurity, and Islamic ethical principles, the study proposes the Madanīh Solution as a comprehensive framework for secure and ethical IoT governance. Blockchain contributes transparency, accountability, decentralization, and data integrity, while AI enables intelligent threat detection, predictive analysis, and real-time security responses. The framework is guided by key Islamic principles, including Amanah (trustworthiness), Adl (justice), Maslahah (public welfare), Shafafiyyah (transparency), and Ihsan (excellence), ensuring that technological innovation is aligned with ethical responsibility and societal well-being. The proposed framework demonstrates how advanced technologies can be integrated with moral values to strengthen security across the physical, network, data, and governance layers of IoT ecosystems. The study contributes to the growing discourse on ethical technology governance by offering a holistic approach that combines cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and Islamic ethics for the development of secure, trustworthy, and sustainable digital environments.
