The previously underestimated diversity of hypogeous Boletales in China is underscore and the first Chinese record of R. sinoevadens is reported, a new species from China, and the first Chinese record of T. persicina is reported.
Abstract
Hypogeous Boletales are ectomycorrhizal fungi with sequestered hymenophores; some species are ecologically valuable as edible mushrooms. Despite their ecological and economical importance, the diversity of this group in China remains poorly understood. In this study, we performed phylogenetic analyses based on four loci (ITS, LSU,
TEF1‐α
, and
RPB2
) and detailed morphological examinations of specimens belonging to
Rhizopogon
(Rhizopogonaceae) and
Turmalinea
(Boletaceae). We describe and illustrate
R. sinoevadens
, a new species from China, and report the first Chinese record of
T. persicina
, a species originally described from Japan. These discoveries underscore the previously underestimated diversity of hypogeous Boletales in China and provide a foundation for future taxonomic and ecological studies.
This study enriches the species diversity of Distoseptispora in southern China and highlights the importance of integrating morphological and molecular data for species delimitation.
Two new species of Cantharellus are described based on morphological observations and multigene phylogenetic analyses of nrLSU, rpb2, and tef1-α, and two new species, C. armeniacus and C. cremeus, are described.

Abstract Oberwinklerozyma and Rosettozyma comprise a relatively small number of described species worldwide. Although several novel species from China have recently been reported, the species diversity of these two genera remains incompletely understood. In this study, two novel yeast species, Oberwinklerozyma jinghong...

We collected a wood‐inhabiting fungus of the genus
Hyphoderma
from a fallen

trunk in Sichuan Province, China. Morphological and molecular analyses using the ITS + nLSU dataset showed that this specimen represents a previously undescribed
Hyphoderma
species, which we designate as
