Digital Transformation in Human Resource Management: Its Impact on Organizational Performance and Efficiency
Abstract
This study examines the impact of digital transformation in Human Resource Management (HRM) on organizational performance and operational efficiency in the digital era. The rapid adoption of technologies such as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), electronic Human Resource Management (e-HRM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and HR analytics has transformed HR functions from administrative support into strategic organizational partners. The objective of this study is to analyze how digital HRM contributes to organizational performance, efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability. A Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach was employed by reviewing and synthesizing relevant studies obtained from reputable academic databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Emerald Insight, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar. The findings reveal that digital HRM significantly improves operational efficiency through process automation, information integration, and service acceleration. Furthermore, data-driven HRM enhances organizational performance by supporting evidence-based decision-making, workforce analytics, talent management, and continuous employee development. The review also indicates that digital transformation strengthens organizational competitiveness and sustainability by fostering workforce agility, innovation capability, ESG-oriented practices, and long-term adaptability. Overall, digital HRM serves as a strategic enabler of sustainable organizational success in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
