Abstract

The growing need for clean, dependable energy has sped up the development of Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) that are connected to the grid. Because of problems like changing wind conditions, poor power quality, and system instability, advanced control strategies are needed for the system to work well. This paper discusses a grid-connected WECS that uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and better control methods to improve performance. The PWM rectifier converts the generated AC power into DC power. A Falcon-optimized Proportional Integral (PI) controller maintains a stable DC-link voltage. A three-phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) then changes the DC power back into AC. To make the power quality better, a D-Q control strategy and an LC filter are used. The results show that the settling time is 0.7 s and the peak time is 0.655 s, which means that the system is more stable and flexible to changes.
