This review synthesizes current knowledge on the biology, ecology, genetic diversity, and genomics of Q. suber L., using Morocco’s Maâmora Forest as a representative case study to discuss how integrating genomic, ecological, and physiological knowledge can improve the understanding of adaptive processes and support evidence-based conservation, provenance selection, and forest restoration.
Climate change is increasingly affecting ecosystem stability and food security in Morocco, highlighting the need to better understand and utilise resilient forest resources. In this context, Quercus species stand out for their wide distribution, adaptability and multiple uses. This review synthesises current knowledge...

Cicer grande (Popov) Korotkova is a rare, subendemic species within the flora of Uzbekistan, primarily inhabiting mountainous landscapes. As a wild progenitor of nutritionally significant cultivated crops, it holds considerable potential for enhancing food security and mitigating hunger through applications in sustaina...
American white oak (Quercus alba L.) is a keystone hardwood species with substantial ecological, economic, and cultural value across eastern North American forests. However, its long generation time, delayed reproductive maturity, recalcitrant acorns, regeneration limitations, and complex genotype-by-environment intera...

Desertification exerts dramatic selection pressures on the evolution of plants. Despite the key role of ecological adaptation by natural selection to arid grasslands and subsequent intraspecific divergence, specific mechanisms driving this process remain poorly understood. Psammochloa villosa, a perennial forage grass...
