Strategic Management in the Age of Intelligent Enterprises : Integrating Artificial Intelligence, Automation, and Data-Driven Decision Making
Abstract
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and data-driven decision making is transforming strategic management practices and accelerating the development of intelligent enterprises. Organizations increasingly rely on intelligent technologies to enhance strategic planning, improve decision quality, strengthen operational agility, and maintain competitiveness in dynamic business environments. This study examines the strategic integration of AI, automation, and data-driven decision making and their collective influence on enterprise performance. A literature-based research approach was adopted to synthesize existing knowledge from strategic management, business analytics, digital transformation, and intelligent technology studies. The analysis identified artificial intelligence as a key enabler of strategic intelligence and predictive decision support, automation as a driver of organizational efficiency and responsiveness, and data-driven decision making as a foundation for evidence-based strategic actions. The findings further reveal that the integration of these capabilities contributes to strategic agility, organizational adaptability, innovation, competitive advantage, decision quality, and sustainable performance. Based on the literature synthesis, an integrated strategic management framework for intelligent enterprises is proposed to explain the relationships among technological capabilities, strategic processes, and organizational outcomes.
