Abstract
Blockchain technology revolutionizes cybersecurity. Traditional financial systems are still at risk of fraud and identity theft because they rely on one point of control. As threats get complex, usual security methods struggle to keep up. This study looks into how blockchain can make things safer by stopping fraud, verifying identities, and securing money transfers. The research used surveys, interviews, and case studies from Ripple and JP Morgan's Quorum to see how blockchain impacts systems. The findings show that financial institutions using blockchain saw a drop in fraud. 40%, to be exact. These institutions also got better at verifying identities and making cross-border payments smoother. The decentralized nature of blockchain means there's no need for an authority. All transactions are transparent. Transactions cannot be changed once they are recorded. However, there are still some challenges to overcome. Scalability issues, following regulations, and high energy use. Despite these challenges, blockchain has the potential to transform financial systems. It can create secure, reliable, and efficient infrastructures. The study's results highlight blockchain's ability to boost cybersecurity by reducing fraud, improving identity verification, and securing transactions with blockchain. Blockchain technology can make a difference in the financial sector. Financial institutions can benefit from using blockchain to protect their customers' information.
