What Does CLIP Learn for Regional Geolocalization? Probing Visual Cues and Scene Configuration After Adaptation

Overall, encoder adaptation substantially improves nearby-region discrimination and is associated with greater sensitivity to intact scene configuration, without evidence that coarse structure alone becomes sufficient for prediction.
