Graft compatibility emerges from the balance between regeneration and immunity: lessons from plant-plant interactions

Plant grafting is a significant horticultural technique that enables the combination of desirable traits such as enhanced resilience, disease resistance, and productivity. Despite its widespread application, the mechanisms underlying graft compatibility remain poorly understood. Because grafting is largely an anthropog...

SlSMXL1 integrates strigolactone signaling and energy sensing to control tomato shoot branching under low light

Strigolactone (SL) signaling pathways have been characterized in model and crop species. However, the critical components of SL signaling in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) remain unclear. In this study, MORE AXILLARY GROWTH 2.1/2.2 (SlMAX2.1/2.2) and SUPPRESSOR OF MAX2 1-LIKE1/2 (SlSMXL1/2), which are the homologs of...

SlERF15 promotes arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis by regulating strigolactone and abscisic acid biosynthesis in tomato.

It is demonstrated that SlERF15 functions as a key regulator involved in SLs and ABA signaling to promote AMS in tomato, offering novel insights into the complex phytohormonal regulation network fine-tuning in plant-mycorrhizal fungi interactions.
