Bacillus aerophilus A5 suppresses tobacco root rot and gene expressions involved in fungal chitin metabolism

A5 was identified as a tobacco root rot biocontrol bacterium with activity against Fusarium pathogens and results suggest that A5 may affect expression of genes involved in pathogen UDP-N-acetylglucosamine-related metabolism, and this response may be associated with impaired Fusarium hyphal growth.

Molecular Characterization of a Chilli Veinal Mottle Virus Isolate and Determination of Key Factors Influencing Its Transmission to Tobacco by Myzus persicae

Transmission assays showed that the highest efficiency was achieved under the tested conditions with an AAP of 5 min, an IAP of 24 h, a density of 5 aphids per plant, and a temperature of 25 °C, while a significant interference between AAP and IAP was also observed.

Metagenomic profiling of tobacco root endophytes reveals a disease-suppressive Enterobacter strain against Fusarium solani

It is indicated that healthy tobacco roots harbor disease-suppressive endophytic microorganisms and suggested that TM-1 may suppress F. solani by interfering with sugar transport and carbon acquisition and provide a potential biocontrol resource for the sustainable management of tobacco root rot.
