Commutator estimates for functions of noncommuting self-adjoint operators

We study properties of the calculus $\varphi\mapsto\varphi(A,B)$ for self-adjoint operators with commutator $[A,B]$ in the Schaten--von Neumann class $\boldsymbol{S}_p$.
