Response of different watering frequencies on the growth and yield of several soybean (Glycine max L.) varieties

This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of different watering frequencies on the growth and yield of several soybean (Glycine max L.) varieties. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse Experimental Garden and Weed Science Laboratory, and soil analysis was performed at the Soil Science Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. The experiment took place from December 2024 to March 2025 using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of two factors and three replications. The first factor was variety, and the second factor was watering frequency. The observed parameters included plant height, biomass weight, root dry weight, pod weight per plant, seed weight per plant, weight of 100 seeds, yield potential, air temperature, and soil temperature. The variety factor significantly influenced plant height at harvest, had a highly significant effect on biomass weight, and significantly affected seed weight per plant. In addition, watering frequency had a significant effect on plant height at 6 weeks after planting (WAP).
