Enhanced Blockchain-Based Privacy Preservation of Healthcare Insurance Data Using Optimized Elliptic Curve Cryptography
The growing use of digital healthcare services has greatly improved access to medical information. However, it has also created serious challenges in protecting the privacy and integrity of healthcare insurance data. Traditional centralized storage systems can be vulnerable to unauthorized access, data tampering, and security breaches. This limits their ability to manage sensitive patient records. This paper introduces a blockchain-based framework designed to protect the privacy of healthcare insurance data using optimized Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). In this framework, healthcare records are encrypted with an optimized ECC algorithm before being stored on a blockchain. This ensures secure and tamper-proof data management. A role-based access mechanism allows secure interactions between healthcare providers and insurance organizations while blocking unauthorized access to private information. The framework also includes secure cryptographic key management and verifies blockchain integrity to protect encrypted records during the data-sharing process. Experimental results show that this approach offers secure storage, controlled access, and efficient cryptographic performance while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of healthcare insurance data. The framework provides a practical and scalable solution for sharing healthcare information securely in today's insurance environments.
