This repository contains the MATLAB scripts and Arduino firmware developed for a bespoke, low-cost automated apparatus for determining the water entry pressure (WEP) of hydrophobic porous materials, including fungal-treated materials. The apparatus integrates stepper-motor-driven axial actuators, moisture sensors and a camera, operated through two Arduino controllers. The Arduino firmware provides actuator control and sensor interfacing, while the MATLAB scripts record video and log moisture-sensor signals and water-column height during testing. Together, these files document the control and data-acquisition workflow used to automate and reproduce WEP measurements and facilitate adaptation of the apparatus for related porous-material testing.
