Replication package for “Three faces of autonomy: Exploring configurations of high team autonomy in software project teams”
This replication package accompanies the manuscript “Three faces of autonomy: Exploring configurations of high team autonomy in software project teams.”The study examines how different combinations of control, alignment, and interaction are associated with high team autonomy in software development projects. The empirical study draws on a multi-informant survey of 76 software development projects and uses fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), followed by exploratory statistical comparisons of the identified configurations.The package contains the R code used to reproduce the analytical workflow reported in the manuscript, including construct-score calculation from survey items, fuzzy-set calibration, necessity analysis, truth-table construction, parsimonious fsQCA minimization, robustness and sensitivity analyses, configuration classification, and follow-up statistical comparisons. It also contains non-confidential intermediate and output files and a fully artificial synthetic dataset that allows the complete analysis pipeline to be executed without access to the confidential empirical data.The original project-level survey data are not included. Participants were assured that their responses would only be shared in aggregated form such that individual responses would not be discernible. Consequently, the empirical project-level and respondent-level data cannot be made publicly available. The synthetic dataset is entirely artificial and is provided solely to demonstrate and test the reproducibility of the analysis code; it should not be interpreted substantively.The package is intended to increase transparency regarding the calibration choices, truth-table construction, QCA solution, robustness analyses, and subsequent statistical comparisons reported in the manuscript.
