Together, these experiments show that GarsΔETAQ/+ mice display robust and selective peripheral nerve pathology that manifests in a general distal-to-proximal fashion, priming this CMT2D allele for testing treatments and evaluating mechanisms underlying peripheral nerve vulnerability.
