Carbene Footprinting and Mass Spectrometry Capture Global Conformational Changes in Elongation Factor-Tu Induced by Antibiotic Binding

Carbene footprinting methodology, in combination with mass spectrometry, was employed to study the interactions of bacterial elongation factor-thermo-unstable (EF-Tu) with two antibiotics. EF-Tu, a GTPase, delivers aa-tRNA to the ribosome during protein synthesis where it undergoes a significant conformational switch...

Hierarchical regulation of oxygen-sensing through coupled transducers in Arabidopsis thaliana

Genetic evidence shows that HYT1 is an important component in the transduction of oxygen-sensing, required for tolerance to acute hypoxia and other stress responses, and has properties of a coherent feed-forward loop initiated and maintained by hypoxia, providing a mechanism to ensure robust response to reduced oxygen.
