UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH NEOLEXEMES: IMPACTS AND INTERACTIONS
The article deals with the analysis of English loanwords in the Ukrainian language, the attempt of studying the mechanisms of lexical innovation creation, specific features of their semantics, functioning, internationalization of the contemporary Ukrainian lexicon. The research is relevant due to the fact that the English language, the first global language in the human history, plays a considerable role in the development of the contemporary Ukrainian language: loanwords explain the nature of qualitative changes in politics, economics, social life; form terminologies of innovative knowledge branches; enable to observe the changes in traditional social interactions and the tendencies in the contemporary virtual internet. Using the compiled resources of new words from the contemporary English and Ukrainian languages, the paper analyses a number of aspects resulting in the impact of the English on the changes in the Ukrainian. The material of the collective work “The Dictionary of New Anglicisms” (2022), Ukrainian sector of social networks, survey of representatives of the young generation because it was important to fix the examples of derivative and semantic changes in the spontaneous use. The attention is focused on the dynamics of the language development which is realized in the fact how formal and informal language means are realized: a) internationalization of the contemporary Ukrainian vocabulary which is, on the one side, is enriched because a great number of terms representing various knowledge sectors replenish Ukrainian language; b) activizing the analytical tendencies of Ukrainian word-formation (nonprecedent formation of compounds, adjective and verb derivatives, blends); c) semantic changes caused by extralinguistic, sociolinguistic, political, social, technical, scientific, cultural, educational transformations in this state, general globalization processes and full-scale war in Ukraine since 2022 (transition of formal words to informal, spontaneous speech, transition of technical terms into the humanity sciences, expansion of semantic potential of the words from the donor language, development of secondary nominations, generalization of borrowing meanings).
