Current evidence demonstrates that proteomics has significantly improved the identification of reliable biomarkers for early cancer detection, tumor classification, prognosis, therapeutic target discovery, and treatment monitoring, and integration of proteomics with genomic data has enhanced understanding of cancer progression and individualized therapy.
