Notes on the subfamily Pleganophorinae, with the description of a new species of the genus Trochoideus Westwood, 1833 (Coleoptera, Endomychidae) from China

Abstract The subfamily Pleganophorinae (Coleoptera, Endomychidae), an unusual group distinguished by its distinctive antennal morphology, is reported for the first time in mainland China with the description of Trochoideus sinensissp. nov. from Guangdong and Jiangxi and the first records of T. desjardinsi Guérin-Ménevi...

Chromosome-level genome assembly of the sap-feeding beetle Amphicrossus lewisi (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae)

A chromosome-level reference genome for A. lewisi is generated using PacBio HiFi long reads, Illumina short reads, Hi-C chromatin-contact data and RNA sequencing to provide a reusable resource for comparative genomics, phylogenetics and studies of adaptation to sap-associated environments in Nitidulidae.

Mitochondrial Genome Comparison and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Family Carabidae (Coleoptera: Adephaga)

These findings provide new mitochondrial genomic evidence for elucidating the evolutionary history of Carabidae and underscore the necessity of broader taxonomic sampling, as well as the integration of nuclear genomic data, to further resolve the contentious relationships within this diverse beetle family.

Two mitochondrial genomes and the phylogenetic relationships of Silpha (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Silphinae)

Silpha carinata (Herbst, 1783), and Silpha perforata (Gebler, 1832) (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) belong to the tribe Silphini, which holds forensic significance due to its species’ rapid colonization of cadavers and relatively long developmental duration. In this study, we reported the complete mitochondrial genomes of...
