Fungal response to drought in the maize rhizosphere after reusing cover crop root channels

Root channels formed by winter cover crop can enhance subsoil water and nutrient access for subsequent crops such as maize (Zea mays L.). Structure and function of fungal communities in these habitats remain poorly understood, especially under drought. We conducted a field experiment across three different soil types...

Functional annotation of insulin-responsive genes in human adipocytes reveals PLCXD1 as a lipid storage regulator

The results uncover PLCXD1 as an insulin-regulated enzyme linking endosomal phosphoinositide metabolism to lipid storage in adipocytes, and show that PLCXD1 catalytic activity is required for insulin-stimulated lipogenesis.

Nutrition and Endometriosis: Current Evidence on Dietary Risk Factors and Clinical Impact – A Narrative Review

There are promising indications for the supportive potential of an anti-inflammatory diet, based on elements of the MedD resulting in a regular intake of long-chain n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, secondary plant compounds, dietary fibers, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Microbiota-host genetic interactions modulate MASLD risk in PNPLA3I148M carriers via ceramides and are reversible by targeted microbial interventions.

BACKGROUND The factors that determine when genetic susceptibility to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) progresses to clinically significant liver injury remain incompletely understood. OBJECTIVE We investigated whether disruption of the intestinal host-microbiota interface acts as a con...

Molecular perturbations of Daphnia magna in response to glyphosate - In laboratory medium and river water.

Among the various emerging contaminants, glyphosate, a widely used active ingredient in herbicidal formulations, has become a pollutant of particular concern. Conventional water monitoring methods fall short in providing insights regarding the underlying toxicity mechanism of glyphosate. To bridge this gap, New Approac...

Coculture of Collinsella aerofaciens and Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron under bile acid stress reveals vitamin B6 exchange

Analysis of the interaction between two key gut microbes under deoxycholic acid (DCA) stress suggests that metabolic cooperation enhances resistance to bile acid stress and may contribute to gut microbiome resilience, with potential relevance to liver- and bile acid-related disorders.
