Higher post-DST cortisol within the suppressed range was independently associated with documented ASCVD and showed substantial discrimination, which support a cardiometabolic gradient below the mild autonomous cortisol secretion threshold but do not establish a diagnostic cutoff.

The plasma aldosterone-to-potassium ratio may serve as a practical biochemical marker for identifying hypertensive retinopathy in patients with primary aldosteronism and facilitate early recognition of individuals at increased risk of aldosterone-related retinal microvascular damage.
